On March 8, 2008 we will finally open our doors to the public in our grand opening weekend! We welcome you all to join us on this exciting day as we officially join the vibrant community at Nanluoguxiang!
We will unveil our first batch of original designed apparel and our special NLGX blend coffee.
Navigate the hutongs with our NLGX Area Map and find our shop with our Beijing Map.
Hope to see you there!

We took our NLGX sanlunche out for a ride last night to shop for cleaning supplies. As we were picking up our bicycles after a stop at a supermarket, Michel was approached by an elderly Chinese man asking if he was selling DVDs! The old man remarked that he looked like the gentlemen who usually sells DVDs outside of that supermarket, haha. I took this picture after the old man walked away - does this look like a pirated DVD vendor to you??

We gave our NLGX company vehicle a complete remake and added some personal touch to it! Carrying now our logo on the top and on the sides, it also displays our url in the back. For sure a sanlunche you won’t see in the hutongs everyday!

As we neared midnight on the night of February 6, the eve of the new lunar year, fireworks lit up the night sky in all directions! From a rooftop nearby NLGX at Ju’er Hutong, we endured the below-freezing temperatures to set off a few fireworks of our own to help welcome the new year =). Happy new year of the rat everyone!

We got off to an early start this Saturday morning and made out way to Xiang He (香河) in bordering Hebei Province. We were told that the make affordable and quality custom-made furniture in this “Furniture City” or 家具成. Driving on the expressway due east, we arrived in Xiang He in about one hour, and what we saw was literally an entire city devoted to home furnishings!

After half a day of walking around three different “neighborhoods”, we found our man and we visited his factory. We ordered our entire collection of furniture through him and it will all be completed and delivered in less than 2 weeks. You can ask us about the furniture quality and workmanship then, haha.

In the end, it was another great day and big step towards opening at NLGX. Once we got back into the city, we capped off our day with the purchase of a second-hand tricycle or “sanlunche “, which we will be using to transport NLGX goods through the hutongs. We’ll be painting it NLGX red with logos all over, so keep an eye out for one of us cycling around Nanluoguxiang!
